Laser therapy is a method that can be applied to most types of scars. It involves ablative and non-ablative fractional lasers. The fractional laser produces micro columns of damage arranged very evenly. The damage covers from 7 to 30 percent of the scar surface, which causes its remodelling and rapid healing. Thanks to this action, uneven scar surface is evened out and its colour is unified, which reduces visibility of the scar. Fractional lasers include the ablative co2 laser and non-ablative lasers: 1550 nm erbium laser, 1927 nm thulium laser, as well as the modern fractional picosecond laser with wavelengths of 1064 nm and 532 nm. Pink and red scars can be treated with a vascular laser to make them lighter in colour. In contrast, pigmented scars can be treated with q-switch or picosecond lasers. Modern picosecond lasers cause scar reconstruction with a 2 day convalescence period, which is extremely important for people who cannot afford a longer period of exclusion from work or physical activity. Additionally, treatment of scars with picosecond lasers causes much less discomfort during the procedure compared to previous generations of lasers.
Treatments for scars - medical chemical peels
Another very effective method of treating scars is the use of peels. Suitable peels we offer include the trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and phenol peel. TCA is used in various concentrations, normally from 15-50%. In some cases such as acne scars with steep edges, 100% TCA crystals are used (CROS method), which are selectively applied on the scars. Already after one treatment with TCA acid at a concentration above 30%, remodelling and levelling of the scar surface is achieved. A very effective combination is a combination of dermabrasion followed by application of TCA, which results in levelling of scars with steep edges. The phenol peel is one of the strongest peels, recommended for use in severe facial scars, especially in the removal of acne scars in Warsaw.

Fat is a tissue that has major applications in scar removal. One of the main indications for fat therapy is the treatment of atrophic scars (scars collapsed below the skin surface) to fill them. However, in addition to obtaining a filling effect with the fat tissue extracted and appropriately processed, a so called stromal vascular fraction is obtained, enriched with, among others, stem cells. Thanks to these cells, adipose tissue offers the possibility of remodelling the scar and regenerating the tissues. The effect of this therapy is softening of the scars, improvement of colour and reduction of unevenness. Patients who complain about pain in the scar area experience reduction or disappearance of pain after the fat transplant procedure. The main indications for transplantation are scars after traffic injuries, biting or surgeries where adhesions or tissue loss is very common. Patients with severe acne and atrophic scars are also suitable candidates for this scar removal therapy in Warsaw.
Dermatosurgical procedures, an effective way to treat scars
Adhesions cause the scar to tighten and increase asymmetry or pulling sensation when the patient moves. For atrophic scars, a good method is to fill them with hyaluronic acid or fat. Often, however, an adhesion of the scar with deeper tissue prevents this procedure from being performed, so the scar must be undercut to release the adhesion before filling. Scar removal through scar undercutting involves insertion of a needle or dissector to dissect the adhesion. After this procedure, the scar is flattened and blood accumulated at the place of undercutting stimulates the tissue to fibrosise.
