Testicular implant placement
Absence of a testicle in the scrotum is an acquired or congenital problem. Acquired testicular loss may occur as a result of surgical treatment (e.g. condition after oncological resection due to testicular cancer; condition after traumatic removal of testicle or testicular loss due to spermatic cord torsion). Ambroziak Clinic's specialists have been dealing with testicular implants for years, thanks to which the patient's comfort and aesthetic aspects of his testicles improve significantly.
Testicular implant surgery is simple in nature - the surgeon makes an incision through which they insert the implant and, thanks to special hooks in the implants, is able to sew them to the inside of the scrotum so that their position is stable. There are different types of implants available on the market and they differ in terms of the material they are made of:
- Implants filled with silicone gel
- Implants filled with silicone elastomer
- saline filled implants
Why is it worth it?
Implants are manufactured in a range of sizes so that the natural and even appearance of the scrotum can be recreated. Selection of the implant size takes place before the operation, with the help of an ultrasound examination of the other testicle, which gives the specialist the opportunity to select the ideal size of the prosthesis. When the patient does not have a second testicle, the size is chosen through consultation with the doctor.

FAQ
In the first phase of the surgery the patient is given an antibiotic which is supposed to protect the body from inflammation that could occur after the surgical intervention. Next, the patient is given appropriate anaesthesia. During the surgery the surgeon cuts the skin near the base of the penis so that the scrotum can be accessed from above. Then the implant is placed and the scrotal chamber is sewn up from above. After the operation the patient is under observation. The implantation itself lasts 20-30 minutes, but together with administration of antibiotics and anaesthesia, the whole stay of a patient in the Clinic may be a few hours.
After the surgery, the patient should strictly follow the doctor's instructions. For a few weeks after the operation, patients are advised to live a quiet lifestyle, avoid physical activity and refrain from sexual intercourse. Strong pain may appear after the treatment, so taking OTC analgesicts is recommended. On the third and fourth day after the surgery, the pain should become less problematic, but the patient should still avoid abrupt movements. Swelling after the surgery is normal, but if the pain does not stop and the swelling persists, the patient should visit the Clinic immediately.
Too young age - testicular implant surgery is recommended after 16/17 years of age. Very advanced age or multiple general comorbodities. Contraindications relate more to anaesthesia than to the operation itself
