Botulinum toxin
The botulinum toxin treatment is very popular thanks to quick and spectacular results.
Botulinum toxin treatments are applied in antiaging therapy, i.e. to reduce wrinkles, as well as in the case of hyperhidrosis and migraines. Undoubtedly, because of versatility of applications, botulinum toxin treatments are among the most popular aesthetic dermatology treatments. Ambroziak Clinic has been performing them for years, helping both women and men with numerous problems.
Why is it worth it?
Botulinum toxin is a very strong natural toxin inhibiting the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter responsible for transmitting impulses between nerves and muscles. Botulinum toxin blocks connections between nerve endings and the muscles they innervate, i.e. it blocks the so-called nerve-muscle synapses. This prevents the paralysed muscle from contracting. Botulinum is equally effective for men and women. In medicine, botulinum toxin is used to treat various diseases such as strabismus, neurological diseases with excessive muscle tension, as well as excessive sweating. Very low toxin concentrations, which do not affect other parts of the nervous system apart from the area where the injection was given, are used to eliminate mimic wrinkles.

The effect of botulinum toxin injection in the area of mimic wrinkles is their smoothing out for about 6 months. Skin on the forehead or around the eyes smoothes out after about two weeks but, importantly, the toxin has an effect on muscle relaxation which will limit formation of deep wrinkles in the future. The effect of hyperhidrosis treatment with botulinum toxin is significant reduction or absence of sweat secretion in the treated area. In both cases, the treatment should be repeated after a period determined by the doctor. In the case of migraine botulinum toxin treatment, the problem is completely cured, but the treatment needs to be repeated sooner, i.e. 6-12 weeks after its performance.
